The Society for American Music (SAM) will hold its annual conference from 22 to 26 March 2017 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. There are always many band related papers and events at SAM, and this conference will be no exception. The American Band History Research Interest Group will be convening during the conference with short papers and discussion on current research in the field. The Newsletter of American Band History Research will have a booth in the exhibit hall during the conference. The SAM Band will make its annual appearance during the Saturday Reception performing historical songs and music. All performers are welcome.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this year’s SAM Conference in Montreal. During our lively paper sessions we always come away with new ideas and insight into music in the United States of America.
